Nervous System Regulation session, reducing stress, improving health, Brooke Davila Fricke, Massage Therapy in Richmond Virginia

ABOUT

My work is shaped by over 25 years as a movement specialist, including teaching Pilates, functional mobility, and owning movement studios dedicated to intelligent, sustainable body training.

My earliest foundation was as a professional dancer in New York City, where I developed a deep understanding of precision, alignment, and the demands placed on the body through high-level performance and repetition.

Alongside my professional path, I also lived through a deeply personal experience: five years of navigating a rare, sacral nerve sheath tumor, followed by a long recovery after surgical removal. This period reshaped my entire relationship with the body—introducing me to chronic pain, nervous system regulation, and the slow process of rebuilding trust in movement again.

These experiences—performance, teaching, injury, and recovery—form the foundation of how I understand the body today.

APPROACH

My work integrates decades of movement education with hands-on body therapy focused on lymphatic flow, fascial release, and nervous system regulation.

I approach the body as a dynamic system designed for circulation, adaptation, and repair. When that system becomes restricted—through stress, injury, surgery, or overuse—symptoms often show up as stagnation, pain, tension, or inflammation.

Sessions are designed to support the body in returning to its natural state of flow.

This includes a blend of:

● Lymphatic drainage techniques to support fluid movement and reduce stagnation

● Fascial and soft tissue work to release holding patterns in the body

● Movement-informed understanding drawn from decades of Pilates and functional training

● Nervous system awareness to support regulation rather than force

Because of my background in both high-performance movement and long-term recovery, I understand that the body can be strong and resilient while also deeply sensitive and overwhelmed.

Each session is responsive to that truth.

The intention is not to override the body, but to listen to it—supporting release where there is restriction, and restoring capacity where there has been depletion
